Question: Who is the greatest prayer warrior in the Bible?

Abraham? He was bartering pretty well with God for Sodom and Gomorrah.
Moses? His face shone he was so near God.
David? Half the psalms (prayers) were written by him.
Elijah? Even the apostle James holds him up as an example in prayer.
Paul? Find one letter he wrote where he does not include exhortations to pray.

As I scan through scripture though it seems the hands down winner is...  Jesus.

Search “pray” in your electronic bible. What is striking is how continuously prayer is present in the walk and life of Jesus. Whether rising early to pray or spending all night in prayer or spontaneously praying in the midst of crowds... Jesus is always praying!

Notably, it is the only recorded area in which the disciples ask directly - “How can I be more like you?” (Luke 11:1).

To be around Jesus was to be around someone who “prayed without ceasing.” (I Thes. 5:17)

What does this say? Jesus is not ‘modeling’ good Christian living. This is God speaking to God! This is what the Trinity does. They have perfect fellowship with one another. And it’s been going on since before time began!

Now comes the mind-blowing part... We are invited into it!

This is not a triune clique of joy and love that we witness and would love to be part of but know we are on the outside. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection we get invited in!

“...when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring...” Isaiah 53:10

“...That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, ‘I will tell of your name to my brothers....’”.  Hebrews 2:11-12

“Beloved, we are God's children now...” 1 John 3:2

Enter into the conversation with God. If you have repented of your sins and trusted in Jesus’ sacrifice for your cleansing you can “come boldly to the throne of grace.” (Heb. 4:16 NKJV)

He is eager to welcome you.
