Fall 2024 Sunday Classes

Sunday Classes help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

All around us, cultural pressure is increasing and theological literacy is declining. There is increasing confusion and dysfunction. As a result, we believe that an hour of worship and preaching is no longer enough to fully equip the church for its calling in this age. Sunday Classes will help us go deeper into theology, cultural issues, and practical Christian living.

1. Rooted: A Study of the Westminster Confession of Faith

Register–Rooted

The Westminster Confession of Faith is a consensus theological document (it’s not just the thought of one man, but the distillation of the work of 120) teaching us who God is and what He has done. All true theology leads to doxology. In other words, this study will help us to worship God in Spirit and truth—the reason we were created!

Register–Christian Beliefs

What is the Bible? What is God like? Who is Christ? What is justification? What is sanctification? This class will cover the basic beliefs that form the pillars of Christianity. We address topics that all of us, redeemed of the Lord, should know in order to be prepared to make a defense for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). This class is ideal for new and young believers, or anyone interested in the core Christian beliefs. The class material may even enrich the devotion and worship of a seasoned believer.

Holiness is something that is often missed in the Christian's daily life. That's because we're not exactly sure what our part in holiness is. In this class, we will look to see clearly just what we should rely on God to do and where we need to accept responsibility. Whether you're just beginning your pursuit of holiness or continuing your journey, this class will challenge you to joyfully obey God's commands of holiness.

Principle-Based Parenting is designed to help parents understand and apply biblical principles* to the privilege of parenting. (While the focus is on principles, practical examples will be peppered throughout; with an emphasis on Christian liberty as opposed to cookie-cutter, copy-and-paste expectations for Christian parenting.) In our former parenting class we covered parenting approaches and foundations. We learned how to approach the different seasons of parenting effectively by wisely stewarding God-given authority, relationship, and influence. In this class we will cover parenting contexts and foundations. We will learn how to wisely navigate the different contexts facing today’s parents, highlighting home, church, and societal culture.

The letter to the Ephesians is a source of great encouragement, clearly proclaiming the mystery of the gospel and the supremacy of Jesus while applying that theology to practical living. Made alive in Christ, believers have received a bountiful inheritance and lavish blessings from God, fueling us for holy living. This study will open our eyes to Paul’s teaching about God’s astonishing grace―grace that enables us to walk in love, holiness, and wisdom as we become imitators of Christ.
