May we excel in the grace of giving.

September 28, 2024 – Kevin Rogers

"We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints— and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace. But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you — see that you excel in this act of grace also. I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich." – 2 Corinthians 8:1-9

Today's Prayer Points:

  • Thank Jesus for becoming poor for your sake, so that through his poverty you become rich.
  • Thank God for his provision and blessing.
  • Offer yourself to the Lord, committing yourself to his purposes through the church.
  • Ask God to free you from the love of money and help you become a cheerful giver.
  • Ask God to help you excel in the grace of giving.
  • Pray these things for all of Covenant Life Church, that together we would please the Lord with his financial provision to us.

Stronger

May we rejoice in our gospel partnerships.

September 27, 2024 – Frank Fuentes

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." – Philippians 1:3-11

Today's Prayer Points:

Longer

May our children's children know God's love.

September 26, 2024 – Robin Boisvert

"As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all." – Psalm 103:15-19

Today's Prayer Points:

  • Thank God that his steadfast love is from everlasting to everlasting.
  • Pray that God will help us number our days and invest in future generations.
  • Pray that our children’s children will know God’s love and righteousness and will remember to do his commandments.
  • Pray that our church will remain a gospel community for centuries to come.

Further

May we build the global kingdom of Christ.

September 25, 2024 – Jose Troche

"For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ; and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation, but as it is written, 'Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.'" – Romans 15:18-21

Today's Prayer Points:

  • Thank God that his purposes are so great that they extend beyond our building and community all the way to the ends of the earth.
  • Thank God that he has brought so many internationals to our doorstep.
  • Pray that we will evangelize Montgomery County and that many people will be won for Christ.
  • Pray for the missionaries and church planters we support.
  • Pray for people who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ, that we will send people to them to preach, and that they will hear, understand, and believe.

Deeper

May Christ dwell in our hearts through faith.

September 24, 2024 – Philip Martin

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." – Ephesians 3:14-21

Today's Prayer Points:

  • Thank God that we can know him personally and closely because of Christ.
  • Thank God for the times you have experienced his goodness at Covenant Life.
  • Pray that God would continue to deepen our understanding of his love for us day after day, year after year.
  • Pray that God would teach us and strengthen us through Sunday worship and sermons, classes, Bible studies, prayer meetings, and all other ministries of the church and school.
  • Pray that God would help us to know Christ, not just know about Christ.

Building

To Propel the Gospel

September 23, 2024 – Kevin Rogers

"According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 3:10-11

Today's Prayer Points:

  • Rejoice in specific things that you see God has done and is doing through Covenant Life Church.
  • Thank God for a time when he met you personally as you gathered with his people at our church building.
  • Express gratefulness for the grace of God in the lives of those who sacrificed financially in the past so that we can be blessed today.
  • Ask God to provide our church leaders wisdom to steward our facility well for long-term kingdom advance.
  • Pray that God will work spiritually in us as we consider our commitment to him and how that may express itself during the Covenant Campaign.
  • Pray for God’s blessing to meet the spiritual and financial goals of the campaign.

Week of Prayer for the Covenant Campaign

September 23-29, 2024

The Covenant Campaign is a faith-filled initiative of Covenant Life Church and Covenant Life School to raise and invest funds in building repair and enhancements over the next three years. We believe that faithfully stewarding our building will do much more than provide for needed repairs and initiatives for our church and school. We are convinced it will help advance God’s kingdom as we provide a place for gospel ministry in the heart of Montgomery County.

Over the course of the following week, we ask you to join us in prayer as we enrust ourselves and this campaign to the Lord. Each morning this week, we will post prayer points that will focus on our future together, praying for spiritual depth, global reach, generational impact, gospel partnership, and generous hearts, all for the glory of God. Please check back each day and pray with us.

Finally, we will conclude the Week of Prayer with a Worship and Prayer night, a time of dedicating ourselves and our church to the only one worthy of all that we are and all that we have. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us at 7:00pm on Sunday, September 29.
